Bugatti Chiron Coming in 2016 with 1500HP

When will the world see a new Bugatti? That’s a question journalists and enthusiasts alike have been asking forever.

After all, the Veyron has been on the market for almost 10 years already (since 2005).

But there may be an answer to that question in 2016, when Bugatti is allegedly set to release the Veyron-replacing Chiron. It’s a car that will have 1500 horsepower and a 0-100km/h (0-60 mph) time of 2.5 seconds. Yeah, that fast. 

As for speed — 288 mph is the alleged top end. At that rate, that would make it the fastest car on the planet. For now, all this detailed information remains unconfirmed from Bugatti.

The final model of the “Les Légendes de Bugatti” honors Ettore Bugatti

The sixth and final model of the exclusive “Les Légendes de Bugatti” (Bugatti Legends) edition honors company founder Ettore Bugatti. As with the five previous Legends, only three of the final Legends model will be produced, each priced at €2.35 million net.

Alongside the world premiere of the Ettore Bugatti Legend, for the first and only time, Bugatti will be presenting all six models of the Legends Edition in Monterey, California on Friday, August 15 at The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering and also on Sunday, August 17 at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

The “Ettore Bugatti” Legend is based on the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse1, as are all the other Legends. The super sports car is powered by a 1,200 PS, 8-litre W16 engine that transmits an unequalled 1,500 Nm at 3,000 to 5,000 rpm to the tarmac. Acceleration from zero to 100 km/h takes 2.6 seconds. With a maximum speed of 408.84 km/h (254 MPH) with the roof down, the Vitesse is the world’s fastest production roadster ever built.

The design of the carbon body of the Legends model “Ettore Bugatti” is based on a 1932 Type 41 Royale with the chassis number 41111 and sports a “yin-yang” color split. The front part is made of hand-polished aluminium and finished with a clear coating. Bugatti is the only manufacturer to use clear-coated aluminium on a production vehicle.

For the first time, this material is used for the entire front and side panels including the bonnet and the doors. The vehicle’s rear, sill panels and A-pillar trims are finished with dark-blue exposed carbon.

Bugatti is using two types of leather for the first time in the “Ettore Bugatti” Legend. Traditional calf’s leather in a natural brown (Brun Cavalier) is used throughout the vehicle interior. Those parts that are typically touched by hand including the steering wheel rim, gear lever, door handles, centre console armrest and door handle recesses, the switches in the door trims and in the roof module are all jacketed in an exclusive, natural cordovan leather.

The eye-catching feature of the interior is the platinum-coated dancing elephant, that is inset in the cover of the rear centre box and reminiscent of the hood ornament of the Type 41 Royale. The figure was originally sculpted by Ettore’s brother, Rembrandt.

Other well-known Legends features have also been included in this vehicle, namely the “Brun Cavalier” leather-clad insert in the centre console extension which bears the “Les Légendes de Bugatti” nameplate and the relief of the dancing elephant as well as the door sills bearing the portrait and signature of Ettore Bugatti.

Veyron Vitesse Black Bess

It’s always a pleasure to talk about anything related to Bugatti and today we’re delighted to show you the latest in the Italian supercar manufacture’s Legends range: the Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse Black Bess, named after the Bugatti Type 18, released over 100 years ago (which was named Black Bess after a famous race horse of the time).

The new model is powered by a 1,200 PS 8.0-liter W16 engine that outputs 1,500 Nm of torque between 3,000 and 5,000 rpm. It can go from 0 to 62 mph at a lightning-fast pace, in just 2.6 seconds and has a top speed of over 250 mph (or 408 km/h) with the roof down.

The Bugatti Veyron Vitesse Black Bess scores just as high in the aesthetics department, its black exterior finish featuring various parts coated in 24kt gold. As for the interior, it comes with hand-painted leather-upholstery and Crimson leather covered steering wheel.

Only three Veyron Vitesse Black Bess supercars will ever be built, each of them priced at about $3 million (2.173.000 Euro)

WORLD PREMIÈRE OF THE “REMBRANDT BUGATTI”

Bugatti is continuing its six-part edition series, “Les Légendes de Bugatti”, at the Geneva International Motor Show to honor some of the more important people in the company’s history. Last year the long-established French brand successfully presented the first three Legends models. All nine vehicles of these model series have been sold. Now Bugatti is celebrating another high point with its fourth legend – named in honor of Rembrandt Bugatti, brother of company founder Ettore and one of the most important sculptors of the early 20th century. As with the other Legends models, only three will be manufactured

The Legends edition

The “Rembrandt Bugatti” is the fourth Legend from the brand. To launch the “Les Légendes de Bugatti” edition last year, Bugatti presented “Jean-Pierre Wimille” at California’s Pebble Beach, “Jean Bugatti” at the IAA in Frankfurt and “Meo Costantini” at the Dubai Motor Show. All nine vehicles of these three Legends have been sold. “The Legends edition is a great success for Bugatti. The response from our customers is amazing,” said Dr Wolfgang Schreiber, President of Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S.

The “Rembrandt Bugatti” is based on the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse. Its 8 litre W16 engine achieves an unparalleled torque of 1,500 Nm from 1,200 PS at 3,000–5,000 rpm, and can accelerate from 0–100 km in 2.6 seconds. With a maximum speed of 408.84 km/h with the roof down, the Vitesse is the fastest production roadster ever built.

 “Rembrandt Bugatti had a special talent for capturing the movement of animals at their most expressive moment,” explains Achim Anscheidt, Head Designer at Bugatti. “The patina, the soul and the crafted character of his bronze sculptures guided us to the colour and material choices in the Legend car that carries his name.” Anscheidt continues: “The result is a super sports car that fuses beauty and elegance with great dynamics and sporting appeal.”

 The body of the “Rembrandt Bugatti” Legend Vitesse was designed in the “horizontal split”, and is largely composed of bronze-coloured clear-coated carbon as a gesture to the artist’s favoured material. The vehicle’s lower half is painted in an elegant light brown, “Noix”. The famous Bugatti horseshoe gleams in platinum from the front grille, with platinum also ringing the EB logo at the vehicle’s rear. The wheels are painted in dark “Firefinch” and light “Noix” browns, and these colours combine to complete the elegant appearance and set the super sports car off against the asphalt. In reference to the artist and Legends car’s namesake, Rembrandt Bugatti’s signature has been lasered onto the petrol and oil cap.

The elegant and harmonious appearance continues in the vehicle’s interior. The Vitesse is completely upholstered with leather in light brown “Cognac”. The rear centre box between the seats has a striking design. It proudly sports Rembrandt Bugatti’s famous elephant sculpture, the hood ornament of the Type 41 Royale and today is the symbol for both the brand and the Legends edition. The elephant was cast in bronze with great technical skill and worked as an insert into the cover. The cover is made of bronze-coloured clear-coated carbon. The door trim is impressive evidence of Bugatti’s reputation for working high-quality materials in a unique style, with braided leather in the softly contrasting colours of “Cognac” and “Coffee”. This elegant design was developed exclusively for this Legends car

 Platinum is also in evidence in the vehicle’s interior, on the EB logo on the steering wheel. Other interior details specific to this Legends Vitesse are the insert of bronze-coloured clear-coated carbon on the extended centre console with the lettering “Les Légendes de Bugatti” and Rembrandt Bugatti’s elephant, and the door sill plates displaying the sculptor’s portrait and signature.

In short, Rembrandt Bugatti is a super sports car that fuses beauty and elegance with great dynamics and sporting appeal. The “Rembrandt Bugatti” Vitesse costs €2.18 million Euro net and the three model series of the Legends edition have already been sold. Bugatti will present the fifth Legends model at the Auto China 2014 in Beijing taking place in April. 

Sporty Koenigsegg One:1 Will Tackle The Bugatti Veyron SS

 As much as we hate to say it, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport might have outlived its glory days, since the upcoming Geneva Motor Show 2014 is set to host the unveiling of the Koenigsegg One:1 – a technological marvel of immense power. The name of this Swedish beast was chosen cleverly for a simple reason: the car in question will feature 1 horsepower for every kilogram or 2.2 pounds of weight.

Consequently, simple math dictates that the new Koenigsegg will boast no less than 1340 horsepower, since it will weigh no less than 1,340 kilograms or 2,954 pounds. Even though it is based on the renowned Agera model, the One:1 is a different car by all intents and purposes. Its new rear wing, for example, is significantly more massive than that of the Agera, and it needed to be quite large in order to ensure enough downforce at mind-boggling speeds. Speaking of speed, the Koenigsegg One:1 is believed to flaunt a top speed of over 449kmh (279mph), but its builders also want it to break several sprinting records.
Limited to just 6 units with a price tag of $2 million each, this extraordinary hyper car will definitely become one of the most famous in the world soon enough.
