THE AMANYARA RESORT - TURKS & CAICOS ISLANDS

Located in the Turks and Caicos Islands, in the British West Indies, the Amanyara resort draws its name from aman, the Sanskrit-derived word for ‘peace’, and yara, the word for ‘place’ in the language of the Arawak Amerindians. The Amnayara resort enjoys secluded white-sand beach, ironshore rocky coves, and an abundant marine life thanks to its pristine reef walls.

Outstanding pavillions

Offering 40 timber-shingled Guest Pavilions tucked along the coast and a number of Aman Villas, the Amanyara resort enjoys a contemporary layout and design, open to the sights and sounds of the turquoise sea.

All pavilions have a combined bedroom and living room separated from the bathroom area by a decorative wooden screen. Arrival is via an entrance terrace featuring two daybeds, and the interior is revealed beyond sliding glass doors. A central king-size bed is joined by a writing desk, reading chair and an entertainment unit with flat-screen TV and CD/DVD player. The spacious bathroom features a freestanding bathtub, twin vanities and a rain shower.

Dramatic overhanging rooflines shade terraces on three sides of each pavilion. These outdoor areas are accessed through large glass doors which open to cooling sea breezes. For intimacy and seclusion, the Ocean Pavilions are positioned along the oceanfront with views of the sea. These pavilions are elevated approximately six metres (20 feet) above the waterline, and have pathways leading to the rocky shore.

Pool Pavilions feature a 12-metre (40-foot) infinity-edge swimming pool surrounded by teak decking and natural vegetation while Pool Pavilions 120 and 125 both feature a 9-by-9 metre (28-foot) zero-edge pool within a spacious walled garde
Finally, ideal for families, the Two-Bedroom Pool Pavilion Suites offer two bedrooms, a smaller room for children, a large living/dining room and a private fitness room with cardio and weight equipment – all under one roof. The swimming pool is fringed by an expansive terrace and lawns.

The Aman Villas

Replicating the resort on a more intimate scale are Amanyara’s Aman Villas – each located on more than half a hectare (1½ acres) of lush terrain.

The Amanyara resort offers 20 distinct villas with three different outlooks: Tranquility Villas overlook reflection ponds and gardens, Ocean Villas are located on the coral bluff with ocean views, and Beach Villas offer direct beach access.

Designed to combine indoor and outdoor living, each Aman Villa is a series of elegant pavilions surrounding a black infinity-edge swimming pool framed by extensive hardwood decking. Each villa has three, four or five bedrooms, extensive living and dining areas, an outdoor dining sala and a kitchen. All offer outdoor showers.
To top it all, Aman Villas are serviced by personal cooks and housekeepers who cater to guests’ every need.

The ethos of Amanyara is founded in simple luxury that is afforded by an exceptional location harmoniously blended with a unique environment resulting in contemporary and finely tuned resorts that offer, with outstretched arms, an enriching, enlightening and rewarding ‘lifestyle’ experience in which to willingly surrender.
