Fincantieri delivers 134m superyacht Serene

Built by Fincantieri in 2011, the Serene is a 134 meter motor yacht, one of the ten largest yachts ever built in the world and one of the finest in terms of sophistication and technology.

Top design

Fincantieri Yachts team developed the project from the ground-breaking concept design of Espen Oeino, who created some of the world’s most famous yachts. The Serene yacht marks Fincantieri’s entrance into an exclusive market sector, made possible thanks to the  expertise the company has gained in the construction of sophisticated, highly  innovative vessels combining cutting edge design and state of the art technology.

Fincantieri has devoted increasingly substantial resources to this market in order to offer customers ever higher levels of quality, design and style. Through Fincantieri Yachts and the construction of the Serene yacht, the company can now boast specific know-how on which it will be possible to draw for the next yachts it builds.

Designed in accordance with the maximum class of international safety regulations for passenger transport, the yacht Serene features seven decks, a hangar and two helicopter landing pads. The vessel also boasts a large sea-water swimming pool which can accommodate service craft and a submarine with a diving depth of up to 100 metres.

Inside, there are 4,500 square metres of interior space including 2,700 square metres of super-luxury designed by Pascale Reymond from Reymond Langton Design, one of the most famous designers in the industry. Serene’s interior layout can accommodate up to 24 guests in 12 staterooms, including a master suite, 1 VIP stateroom, 7 double cabins and 3 twin cabins.

Timeless styling, beautiful furnishings and sumptuous seating feature throughout her living areas to create an elegant and comfortable atmosphere.

SUNBORN LONDON THE YACHT HOTEL CONCEPT

As super yachts have become the world’s ultimate symbol of wealth and luxury, Sunborn is pioneering a unique approach to the development of exclusive accommodation – the yacht hotel. June 2014 saw the group’s first two openings taking place in London and Gibraltar with projections to expand globally over the next decade.

The Yacht Hotel Concept

Launched in April 2014, Sunborn London is a deluxe yacht hotel located in the prestigious Royal Victoria Docks, next to ExCel London.

Maintaining the charm of a bygone era and sophistication of a classic sailing yacht with teak wood panelling, a sweeping glass staircase and vast decked areas, the 120 metre length, Sunborn London will offer 138 spacious yacht bedrooms and suites over 5 floors with entertaining space, including the ‘Lands End’ restaurant, the ‘Sundowner’ bar, auditorium and conference rooms, state of the art gym and vast outside decks and private terraces.

The recent regeneration of East London and the Newham Borough makes this an ideal location for Sunborn London. The yacht hotel will primarily attract corporate clients, with its close proximity to ExCeL, which alone expects to welcome four million visitors during 2014, London City Airport and Canary Wharf.

However the hotel’s luxury accommodation and facilities will also provide the ideal base from which to enjoy the local attractions, including the O2, Greenwich and the Emirates Airline.

Commenting on the new Sunborn Yacht Hotels, Hans Niemi, Executive Director, says “Our goal is to expand the Sunborn Yacht Hotel concept to well-known locations around the world. The new hotel in London, currently the world’s most important city – together with a dynamic Mediterranean location in Gibraltar, gives us a an important platform for the Sunborn brand and business concept. Our yacht hotels are hotel properties which deliver significant benefits”.

Imagine a luxury berth on a glamorous yacht hotel in the very heart of London’s Docklands. A stay aboard Sunborn London presents visitors with the opportunity to enjoy a unique experience: the privacy and exclusivity of an ocean-going yacht combined with the quality and comfort of a top-class hotel.
